Hello and Welcome to my Webpage. My name is Ariella Abarbanel. I am the Mathematics teacher on the 8 South Team at Franklin Middle School in Champaign, IL.  I currently teach 8th grade Connected Math, Algebra I, and Math Enrichment.  AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, it is system to prepare students in the academic middle for four-year college eligibility. It has a proven track record in bringing out the best in students, and in closing the achievement gap. Our students are preparing for college beginning at 6th grade, through learning everything from organization and study skills to the college search and application.
